I came across this great article that explains why cats act like their food bowl is empty. If you have a cat, you know about this phenomenon! You filled up their food bowl, and later in the day the center of the food is eaten and your kitty is crying for more. So we shake down the walled up food, try to persuade our cat that this food is just as good, and hope they eat it.
