Summertime Pet Safety

We have officially made it to July and I think it is safe to say that it is HOT! This week they are calling for the temperatures to stay in the mid to high 90s. I thought this would be the perfect time to pool (see what I did there 🙂 ) some resources together so that our pets can stay safe.

  • Never Leave Your Pet In The Car!

  • There should be ample access to water.
  • If your pet will be outside for awhile, have multiple bowls available.
  • Exercise dogs in the early morning or late evening.
  • These are the coolest times of the day.
  • When walking dogs, keep them on the grass & on the shaded side of the street. Sidewalks & Streets will burn their feet.
  • Put a bare foot or your hand on the ground to test the temperature.
  • Know the Signs of Heat Stroke and Act Quickly!
