ResQwalk Is Helping Local Animal Welfare Organizations

I stumbled upon this awesome app the other day and I couldn’t wait to share it with everyone! ResQwalk is free to download in the Apple Store or Google Play. Once you download it, you can get started right away. Just log in and select the rescue group you want to support. Then click the “Start ResQwalk” button and you are good to go. When you’re done with your walk, just click the “Finish” button and your miles will be logged. If you take a walk every night, you could log some serious mileage for your favorite animal welfare group! If you walk with a partner, get them to download the app too and double the contribution!

You can find answers to their frequently asked questions here, but basically here is how it works. They have a corporate sponsor for each month that donates money. At the end of the month all the miles are tallied up and the money is divided up to the animal rescue groups. The group with the most miles logged gets the most money donated to them.

Right now there are 251 groups to chose from. Here is a list of all the rescues in the Charlotte, NC area that are participating with ResQwalk:

  • Carolina Waterfowl Rescue
  • Lucky Labs Rescue
  • Hope For All Dogs Rescue
  • South of the Bully
  • Carolina Raptor Center
  • Mid-Atlantic Pug Rescue Inc
  • Lake Norman Lucky Cat Program
  • Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue
  •
So lace up those sneakers and hit the trails and greenways all for a good cause! If you’ve signed up already, leave a comment and let us know who you’re walking for!
