Adopt a Senior Pet Month

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month! Pets are considered “senior” at about age 7. Most dogs and cats can live at least 10-15 years. Many pets still have great health well into their senior years. Sadly, a lot of senior pets stay in the shelter or rescue for a very long time. Some are even euthanized due to space issues. If you are thinking about getting a new pet for your family, please consider adopting a senior pet. They would love to live the rest of their life with you. Here are some rescue groups you can start your search with below.

Humane Society of Charlotte
Humane Society of York County
Project HALO
Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love
Yorkie Haven
Bichon Frise Club of Charitable Trust
SAFE Animal Haven

If you aren’t in the Charlotte area, you can check out Petfinder.com to locate your local rescue groups. Once you’ve adopted your new pet, visit www.chloesplayhouse.com when you need a Pet Sitter or Dog Walker in Charlotte, NC.
